Peach Effigy Corset by easlucas Peach Effigy Corset by easlucas
This Elizabethan corded effigy style corset was completed in about a four days total. It's made of a top layer in peach/pink silk floral brocade, two laters of muslin for interlining, and lined in red silk satin. It's bound in a slightly darker red polyester satin. There are probably around 100 boning channels. The boning is 1/4" cable ties instead of hemp cord. I wanted something that would support well no matter what the weather and wash well too, but I still wanted to try the corded style. There are 34 handstiched red eyelets and matching red cord (not pictured).

EDIT (Sept. 2007): Finally a good picture. My friend Emily fell it love with the corset and insisted upon a costume switch during faire one day. I think Emily looks fantastic in my corset and petticoat. (I know it looks a little strange on her, but I'm a B cup and she's a D!)

Very pretty! You did such a tidy job on the binding and eyelets - well done! :)

Thank you so much! The binding is actually a bit of a mess, but it's not too noticeable from a distance. It did seem like the mass amount of eyelets would never end though. I almost gave up at one point! It was such a nightmare, but in the definitely worth it.

Pretty! Kudos to you for spending all that time on the eyelets - those things take bloody forever!

Too fancy? Bah, it's for a well to do middle class woman--yeah, that's it. Looks great, and if there is ever a chance I would like to see it in person.

I can bring it with me this weekend if you're going to be out at the campsite? You'll get to see the horrid job I actually did on it. =p
